Uzbekistan to co-op with Russia, Ukraine for uninterrupted operation of compressor stations

Uzbekneftegaz JSC has signed contracts with Russian and Ukrainian companies for the repair of gas generator engines at compressor stations, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekneftegaz.

Currently, more than 90 percent of gas production in Uzbekistan is carried out through compressor stations. In order to provide uninterrupted operation of these stations, it is necessary to timely replace devices, compressors and motors, as well as carry out routine and major repairs.

On behalf of the Chairman of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, large-scale work is being carried out in the oil and gas production divisions of the company.

In order to restore production facilities, a contract was signed with Russia’s KMPO JSC for the repair of NK-16ST in departments and factories, gas generator engines of the NK-16-18ST brand, as well as with the Ukraine’s MotorSich JSC for the repair of gas generator engines of the AI-336-2-8 and D-336 brands.

According to the contract, six NK-16-18ST gas turbine engines were sent to Russia, two AI-336-2-8 gas generators to Ukraine and one LM-2500 gas generator was sent to Germany for overhaul.

Problems arising at 23 compressor stations of Uzbekneftegaz JSC were eliminated during a video conference with specialists from KMPO JSC (Russia), Dieselzipservice JSC (Russia), MotorSich JSC (Ukraine), S&S Turbine Services LTD (Canada), Weir Engineering Services LTD (United Arab Emirates).
