Iran's Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian has inaugurated the smart grid network in Tehran, that would fully substitute overhead power grid at Tehran Power Distribution Company, Trend reports via IRNA.
"This project has already been launched in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province, and has shown good results," said the minister. "Now, it would provide advantages for the people of Tehran and help simplify their work."
He said Iran's power industry had undergone big changes in recent years, and the overall quality of provided services has improved.
Ardakanian said there are plans to have smart grids installed at the Energy Ministry's subsidiary companies, as it would help increase the production, and eventually help form smart subscriber base.
