Iran discloses volume of gas to be exported

It is forecasted that Iran will export 70 million cubic meters of gas daily this winter, Caretaker of the Dispatching Department of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Reza Joulaei said, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

According to Joulaei, a total of 820 million cubic meters of gas daily will be pumped into Iran's pipelines in winter.

He added that housing gas consumption in Iran will be 580-600 million cubic meters per day in winter.

The official noted that on average of daily 30-40 million cubic meters of gas is planned to be delivered to thermal power plants in winter.

"At present, Iran processes 700 million cubic meters of gas per day. Its 300 million cubic meters are consumed in housing. Given the drop in temperature in some regions of the country, 120 million cubic meters of gas were added to consume in this week compared to last week," he said.

Iran consumed a total of about 105 billion cubic meters of gas during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020). Of this volume, 39.6 billion cubic meters were consumed in Iran's housing, commercial and small industrial facilities during the reporting period.

At the same time, 23.8 billion cubic meters of it was consumed in Iran’s large industrial facilities and 41.3 billion cubic meters at Iran's thermal power plants. In addition, Iran exported 17.5 billion cubic meters of gas in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020).
