Bursagas, subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey, has started gas supplies to Uludag, one of the major winter tourism destinations in Turkey, Trend reports citing Turkish media.

The 16 million Turkish liras worth project was completed in a year. Around 21 kilometers of steel and nine kilometers of polyethylene lines were laid as part of the project.

“We work to ensure uninterrupted and safe gas supply to all regions in our license area. In the process of combating COVID-19, we continue making investments without slowing down,” said Bursagas Director General Bora Cermikli.

Bursagas plans to make 140 million Turkish liras worth network investments by late 2020. The company’s network investments stood at 125 million Turkish liras in 2019.

SOCAR Turkey completed the acquisition of Bursagaz, Kayserigaz, Enervis, EWE Energy and Millenicom from German Ewe AG in June 2019.

Earlier, EWE AG told Trend that the decision on the possible sale of its assets in Turkey is related to the optimization of the company's activity.

EWE Turkey Holding has been operating in Turkey since 2007 and is the fourth biggest supplier of natural gas in Turkey.
