SOCAR reduces LPG imports to Ukraine

SOCAR Energy Ukraine, subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, has imported 5,100 tons of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) to Ukraine in October 2020, Trend reports with reference to Ukrainian media.

This is while LPG imports to Ukraine by SOCAR stood at 6,100 tons in September.

LPG imports to Ukraine amounted to 138,500 tons in October 2020, almost unchanged from September with 137,400 tons.

Imports of Russian and Kazakh products during the reporting month were unchanged from the September level and stood at 58,000 and 34,500 tons, respectively. Deliveries from Belarus increased by 5 percent, while shipments from Mozyr decreased by 3,000 tons as compared to September.

Sea shipments in October 2020 amounted to 15,000 tons, which is 5,000 tons more than in the previous month.

SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008.

The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions, as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.

The company operates 60 filling stations in Ukraine, as well as two “Baku-1” oil bunkers in Kyiv and “Ganja” in Odessa.

The company has also been engaged in the trade of natural gas in Ukraine since late 2016.
