Uzbekneftegaz eyes reducing air emissions

Uzbekneftegaz JSC plans to reduce air emissions by 2,706 tons, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz.

The departments and enterprises of the Uzbekneftegaz JSC system have developed measures for environmental protection and rational use of natural resources for 2020, in agreement with the regional committees of ecology and environmental protection.

Uzbekneftegaz also plans to purify 11,600 cubic meters of wastewater, recycle 2,634 cubic meters of wastewater, clean 10,411 tons of waste, re-use some 343 hectares of disturbed lands (lands that have lost their economic value), and plant 21,200 trees.

The volume of emissions into the atmosphere for 9M2020 amounted to 14,981 tons, into wastewater - 1,654 tons, and the amount of waste accounted for 38,679 tons, which is less than the established norms.

Some 230 hectares of degraded land were reclaimed in order to protect land resources and waste disposal. The volume of neutralized and disposed household and industrial waste amounted to 2,306 tons. Also, 3,774 ornamental and fruit trees were planted.

It is planned to reduce SO2 carbon dioxide emissions by 5,000 - 6,000 tons as a result of the implementation of the measure "Construction of sulfur production units" in order to compensate for the generated capacities in the Mubarek refinery, included in the measures for the rational use of natural resources for environmental protection for 2020 of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
