Oil Extraction from Iran's Nargesi oil field kicks off

Oil extraction has been started for the first time from the Bangestan reservoir of the Nargesi oil field in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran), Trend reports citing National Iranian South Oil Company’s website.

According to the report, thus, 3,000 barrels of crude oil will be extracted daily from well No. 13 of the Nargesi oil field.

“The drilling of well No. 13 began in 2017, as part of a plan to develop 28 reservoirs in the territory of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC),” the report said.

According to the report the Jahrom reservoir of the Nargesi oil field was discovered in 1974 by drilling one well, and in 1997 this well was launched.

“So far, a total of 12 wells have been drilled in the Jahrom reservoir and about 97 million barrels of crude oil have been extracted from the reservoir,” the report added.

Iran's Nargesi oil field is located 70 km northeast of the Bushehr port, near the Rudak and Sulabdar fields. The approximate length of field is 24 km and width - 4 km. The development of this field is implemented by Iran's Dana Company.
