Ukraine discloses volumes of bitumen import from Azerbaijan

Around 5,700 tons of bitumen were imported from Azerbaijan to Ukraine from January through October 2020, Trend reports referring to Ukrainian media.

“During the reporting period, 46,500 tons were delivered by sea, with 15,300 tons from Greece, 12,400 tons from Italy, 8,000 tons from Turkey, 5,700 tons from Azerbaijan and 5,100 tons from Spain,” reads the message.

Overall, 678,400 tons of road bitumen were imported to Ukraine from January through October 2020, which is more than twice as much as in the same period of 2019 with 317,300 tons). The record supply was marked in October 2020 with 162,000 tons.

In just 10 months, 479,200 tons of bitumen were imported from Belarus to Ukraine. During the same period, Poland supplied 108,300 tons, which is three times more than in the same period in 2019.

The balance of the Ukrainian road bitumen market stood at 960,000 tons, which is one and a half times more than in the same period of the previous year with 558,000 tons.

The market continues to grow both due to imports of the product and due to the increase in production at the Kremenchug refinery.

During the reporting period, Ukrtatnafta plant increased bitumen production by 42.4 percent, from 199,000 tons to 283,700 tons. At the same time, the share of the Kremenchug refinery in the market balance in this period slightly decreased from 35 percent to 30 percent as compared to the first ten months of 2019.
