Ukraine is interested in expanding the supply of natural gas, oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine told Trend.

"One of the key elements of cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the energy sector is the implementation of the Euro-Asian Oil Pipeline Corridor (EAOPC) project within the framework of the Sarmatia International Pipeline Company to create a new route for transporting oil from the Caspian region to the EU markets by pipeline," the ministry said.

Sarmatia is currently working on the implementation of a key element of the EAOPC - the project for the construction of the Brody (Ukraine) -Plotsk 'Adamova Zastava' (Poland) pipeline to connect the Polish and Ukrainian oil transport systems.

The Ukrtatnafta plant has an agreement with Azerbaijan's SOCAR on annual supply, as well as an agreement with the state-owned company Ukrtransnafta for its transportation.

As reported, around 5,700 tons of bitumen were imported from Azerbaijan to Ukraine from January through October 2020.

During the reporting period, 46,500 tons were delivered by sea, with 15,300 tons from Greece, 12,400 tons from Italy, 8,000 tons from Turkey, 5,700 tons from Azerbaijan, and 5,100 tons from Spain.
