Azerbaijan produced 1.89 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in October 2020, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan told Trend.
According to the energy ministry, the export of electricity in October amounted to 59.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
“Import of electricity to Azerbaijan in October amounted to 10.8 million kilowatt-hours. The electricity production in Azerbaijan during the reporting month increased by 24.7 million kilowatt-hours year on year, exports - by 14.5 million kilowatt-hours, imports - by 1.5 million kilowatt-hours,” the ministry said.
According to the ministry, the production of electricity in the country increased by 138.5 million kilowatt-hours, and amounted to 21.3 billion kilowatt-hours.
From January through October 2020, Azerenerji OJSC produced over 18.9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, of which 18.2 billion kilowatt-hours were generated through thermal power plant (TPP). Meanwhile, the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic produced 356 million kilowatt-hours (175.3 million kilowatt-hours by TPP), 37 million kilowatt-hours – by solar power plant), and over 1.94 billion kilowatt-hours by independent power plants.
