Iran's VP talks impact of sanctions on oil and gas sector

The first vice president of Iran said that the oil and gas industry suffered most due to sanctions.

“The development of the country should be formed around the oil industry,” the First Vice President, Ishaq Jahangiri said in a meeting of the working group for removing barriers to production leaps, on Tuesday, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He pointed out that “During the sanctions, the oil industry suffered the most pressures, but relying on resistance economy policy, some of these pressures and shortcomings were compensated.

Appreciating the performance of the Ministry of Oil and the long-term and short-term plans of the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry, the First Vice President asked the Ministry of Oil to identify the main obstacles to the production leap and present them at next meetings.

In this meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, the Governor of the Central Bank and the Chairman of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, the Minister of Oil presented a report on the performance and plans of this ministry to achieve a production leap.
