Turkmenistan remains main supplier of aviation kerosene to Georgia

Turkmenistan continues to be the main supplier of aviation kerosene to Georgia, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

More than 40,000 tons of jet fuel were exported to Georgia from Turkmenistan from January through November 2020.

The above-mentioned volume amounted to about 80 percent of the total volume of Georgian imports of jet fuel.

According to the information, Turkmenistan has been leading the list of the main exporters of aviation fuel to Georgia for several years in a row.

In addition to aviation kerosene, other products are also exported to Georgia from Turkmenistan. In particular, more than 93,000 of motor gasoline and diesel fuel were delivered from Turkmenistan to the Georgian market in the reporting period.

Turkmenistan exported 22,900 tons of aviation kerosene to Georgia from January through June 2020.

The exported volume of aviation kerosene to Georgia accounted for almost 80 percent of all Georgian aircraft fuel imports.

In 1H2020, Georgia purchased more than 50,000 tons of gasoline and diesel fuel in Turkmenistan, which is almost 8,000 tons more than in the same period of 2019.

Turkmenistan is one of the four main suppliers to the Georgian market of gasoline and diesel fuel.

In 2019, Turkmenistan became the largest supplier of aviation kerosene to Georgia.

As reported, Turkmenistan sent over 40,000 tons of aviation kerosene to Georgia in 2019, which amounted to 40 percent of the total volume of Georgian aviation fuel imports.

For several years, Turkmenistan has been a leader among the aviation kerosene exporters to Georgia, ahead of Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Romania and other countries that for many years have been large suppliers of aviation kerosene to the Georgian market.

Aviation kerosene purchased by Georgia is produced at the Turkmenistan's Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.

Last year, Turkmenistan exported 120,000 tons of diesel fuel and gasoline to the Georgian market, thereby taking the fourth position among the supplier countries.
