The construction of the Persian Gulf Bidboland Gas Refinery project was completed within one year without foreign companies, CEO of Petrochemical Industries Development Management Company (PIDMCO) Safar Ali Babaie told Trend.
"The construction of the Persian Gulf Bidboland Gas Refinery project was an achievement for the PIDMCO. The project remained incomplete for years and the Oil Ministry had assigned it to the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company," Babaie said.
"It was a mega project, with more than $3 billion invested in it. The project was expected to be completed by foreign companies but due to sanctions, we had to finish it without foreign assistance," he said.
"The PIDMCO was assigned for management contract in the project by the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, and we used all our efforts to complete the project - from equipment purchase to design and executive issues based on schedule," Babaie said.
"It is unbelievable that the project was finished in one year," he said.
"Completing the project was considered a national record in utilizing local technology in petrochemical industry," he said.
"The construction of the project broke all the records in the country and was done based on international working hours," he said.
