TANAP’s total gas supplies to Turkey to reach 12 bcm as of June 30,2021

Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline’s (TANAP’) total gas supplies to Turkey to reach 12 billion cubic meters as of June 30,2021, TANAP General Manager Saltuk Duzyol said during an online press conference, Trend reports.

He noted that TANAP transported 2 billion cubic meters from June 30, 2018 till June 30, 2019 and 4 billion cubic meters from June 30, 2019 till June 30, 2020.

This figure will stand at 6 billion cubic meters from June 30, 2020 till June 30, 2021, he added.

TANAP project envisages transportation of gas from Stage 2 of Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field from Georgian-Turkish border to Turkey’s western border.

The initial capacity of TANAP is expected to stand at 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year, with possibility of expanding to 31 billion cubic meters per year in the future.

A ceremony to launch Phase 0 of TANAP took place June 12, 2018 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. First commercial gas deliveries to Turkey commenced on June 30, 2018. The opening ceremony of TANAP’s connecting with Europe took place on Nov. 30, 2019 in Ipsala town (Edirne province, Turkey).
