BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 10

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Some 2,486 electric cars were registered in Georgia by late December 2020, Avto Shavishvili, executive director of E-Space company, operating a public charging station network in Georgia, said, Trend reports via Georgian media.

Shavishvili explains that the market is growing, but 2020 has affected all industries. The growth of electric vehicles in Georgia was 10-20 percent down last year, but the industry grew from 20 percent to 40 percent globally.

Shavishvili said, that the service of E-space must not be free in order to support competition increase.

"We came up with the idea to use E-Space chargers more efficiently. So, the service is not free and the client has to pay for it. The service must not be free to make it easier for other players to enter the market. We do not claim to be the only ones on the market”, Shavishvili declares.

Director of E-Space notes, that he knows the company will lose customers when the service no longer is free, but E-Space continues the chain development.

E-Space dedicates to the support and promotion of electric vehicles in the country and the introduction and implementation of respective new technologies. E-Space is the only company to own and operate a public charging station network in Georgia. E-Space aims to install up to 100 public chargers, including several fast chargers on principal highways.
