SPM system for Iran's Jask oil terminal to be installed

The floating system Single Point Mooring (SPM) for the Iranian Jask oil terminal, manufactured by the Iran Marine Industrial Company (SADRA), will be transported for installation in the Gulf of Oman in the coming days, administrator of Jask oil terminal, Vahid Maleki said, Trend reports citing Pars Oil and Gas Company’s website.

The official emphasized that the volume of this system which will be located about 6 km from the Makran coasts is about 800 tons.

He added that the system will be installed at a depth of 48 meters when the weather is favorable, and there will be an opportunity for export of crude oil from the terminal with the installation of the system.

Maleki said that it is possible to transport daily 1 million barrels (7,000 cubic meters per hour) of crude oil and gas condensate through this system.

As reported, it is planned to install 6 submarine pipelines, crude oil metering systems and 3 floating systems (SPM) at the Jask oil terminal in Iran. In the first stage, 1 metering system, two 36-inch pipelines and one floating system will be put into operation for the extraordinary operation of this terminal.
