BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 15

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The first 3.2-megawatt electric pump, produced by Iranian companies and used in the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline, has been delivered to pumping station No. 2, the deputy executor of Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline project of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Ali Jafarzadeh said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to him, 4 electric pumps are needed for pumping station No. 2 in the Goureh-Jask oil pipeline in the first stage. Two electric pumps will be sent to the pumping station next week and another one after the necessary tests are conducted.

Jafarzadeh added that the production of these pumps in Iran domestically has both increased employment and led to currency savings.

A contract was signed between the PEDEC and the Iran Industrial Pumps Company, Pumpiran Company, and Iran PETCO for the production of 50 electric pumps on the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline. The contract is worth about 48 million euros.

The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
