As many 256 villages in 9 provinces of Iran will be supplied with water today on February 23, Trend reports citing the Energy Ministry of Iran.
According to the report, a total of 3.4 trillion rials (about $80.9 million) was spent on the water supply to villages.
These villages are in Iran's East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Hormozgan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Yazd, Ilam, Fars, and Qazvin provinces of Iran, and more than 172,000 people will be supplied with drinking and sustainable water.
A 442 km long pipeline on water transportation was laid, a 605 km long water pipeline was repaired and water reservoirs with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters were built, the report said.
