SOCAR becomes main supplier of Lithuanian gasoline to Ukraine

Imports of motor gasoline to the Ukrainian market in February 2021 increased by 3.7 percent (2,900 tons) and stood at 80,100 tons, compared to the same period of 2020 with 77,200 tons, Trend reports referring to the Ukrainian media.

The main suppliers of the Lithuanian gasoline in February 2021 were SOCAR Ukraine (3,400 tons), Amic Ukraine (2,000 tons), Alliance Oil Ukraine (1,600 tons) and Glusco Ukraine (1,500 tons).

Ukraine imported 168,900 tons of gasoline from January through February 2021, which is 15 percent more than in the first two months of 2020.

The import of gasoline from Belarus increased by 26 percent compared to February 2020 and stood at 67,100 tons.

The largest suppliers of Belarusian gasoline were OKKO and WOG networks with 23,800 tons (24 percent increase as compared to February 2020) and 10,000 tons (0.3 percent increase), respectively. BRSM-Nafta has tripled the supply of gasoline from Belarus from 3,000 tons in February 2020 to 8,800 tons in February 2021.

Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008.

The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.
