Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy will prepare a National project for the development of petrochemicals until 2025, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev said, Trend reports citing the press office of the government.

Nogayev said that during a recently held extended meeting of the Government, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym Jomart Tokayev set the task to take measures to accelerate the ongoing projects in oil and gas chemical production, as well as create attractive conditions for potential investors.

The implementation of this task is overseen by taking the following measures. Firstly, the National project will be developed. The National project will allow developing the industry pointwise with an emphasis on solving relevant issues, in particular: providing petrochemical projects with raw materials; creating a cluster of petrochemicals; developing further redistribution.

The second step is to work out the investment agreement between the government and an investor, which is will allow uniting all measures of state support.

The preparation of this agreement will allow achieving the following results: The volume of production of petrochemical products will increase 5.5 times by 2025 compared to 2020 and be more than 2 million tons of products.

The total amount of funds raised for the implementation of petrochemical projects will amount to about $3.9 billion.
