Iran's Palayesh Parsian Sepehr Company will earn about $1 billion a year with the launch of its ethane production unit tomorrow Apr. 15, the Managing Director of the company Mahmoud Zirakchianzadeh told Shana news agency, Trend reports.
The director noted that after the launch of this unit, 20-30 percent of the money spent on the construction of the unit will be returned annually.
Zirakchianzadeh added that a total of $1.01 billion has been spent on this unit. The money has been spent by the National Development Fund of Iran and shareholders (Parsian Financial Group, Tadbir Energy Development Group, Pars Oil Company).
“With the launch of this unit, Iran's Palayesh Parsian Sepehr Company will send 1.3 million tons of ethane per year to petrochemical olefin units. The company also produces 16 million tons of methane a year,” he said.
According to the director, the company exports 1 million tons of propane and butane and 1 million tons of gas condensate per year.
Zirakchianzadeh emphasized daily 74 million cubic meters of rich gas are transported to Palayesh Parsian Sepehr Company from four Iranian gas fields (Tabnak, Shanol, Varavi and Homa).
