Georgia plans to build three solar power plants

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 28

The Energy Development Fund of Georgia plans to build three solar power plants, said the head of the state-owned company Georgi Chikovani, Trend reports via Georgian media.

As Chikovani noted, he is talking about solar power plants with a capacity of 5, 25 and 50 megawatts.

According to Chikovani, the total investment of all three projects will be in the range of $50 million.

The construction of solar power plants is planned in the Sagarejo and Gurjaani regions.

"The operation of solar power plants will begin by the end of 2022. The project will be implemented by the Energy Development Fund, and then it will be sold," Chikovani said.

According to him, the project of the first power plant will be implemented in the Sagarejo region - in the desert. Investments in it will amount to $3-3.5 million.
