Iran discloses generation data of Manjil Wind Power Plant

The Manjil Wind Power Plant in the Gilan Province (northern Iran) generated about 7,300 megawatt-hours of electricity in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), manager on electricity sales of Gilan Regional Electric Company (GILREC), Mohsen Babazadeh said, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Energy of Iran.

Babazadeh stressed that the Manjil Wind Power Plant is the largest wind power plant in Iran with a generation capacity of 92.2 megawatt-hours.

The manager added that the Manjil Wind Power Plant was put into operation in 1994 with the installation of 1 turbine with a capacity of 500 kilowatt hours. This power plant already has separate facilities in 4 counties.

According to him, the power plant has 300-kilowatt-hours, 500-kilowatt-hours, 550-kilowatt-hours and 650-kilowatt-hours turbines.

Reportedly, about 5.91 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated in renewable energy power plants in Iran over last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).

At present, the generation capacity of Iran's renewable energy power plants is 875 megawatt-hours.
