BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgia has adopted a number of regulations implementing the EU's Third Energy Package, the Ministry of Climate and Environment of Poland told Trend.
"These regulations included the Renewable Energy Directive, the Energy Efficiency Directive, and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive," the ministry said.
According to the source, the adoption of the Electricity Market Model Concept in April 2020 and the Electricity Market Rules, which will enter into force on 1 July 2021, provide the framework for the gradual opening of the wholesale and retail markets.
"Liberalization of the Georgian energy market, as well as the implemented legal framework in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, create additional opportunities to strengthen cooperation, including investment cooperation between Polish and Georgian enterprises operating in low-emission industries, such as renewable energy installations, or thermo-modernization," the ministry noted.
