Exports of Iran's Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company increase

The export of polymer products of Iran’s Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company increased by 14 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Trend reports citing the company’s official portal.

According to the report, the company's exports of polymer products amounted to 109,000 tons over the last Iranian year, which is a record figure for the company's annual exports.

“The Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company also set a record for PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) production within last Iranian year. So, the company produced 166,000 tons of PVC in the last Iranian year. However, the company had produced a maximum of 162,000 tons of PVC over the past years,” the report said.

In addition, the K2 catalyst used at the company began to be produced domestically in Iran during the last Iranian year, and the company no longer imports this catalyst, the report said.

Iran's Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company is located on 270 hectares of land in the Fars Province (southern Iran). The company can produce 1 million tons of ethane, 1.96 million tons of propane, 1.57 million tons of butane, 1.41 million tons of pentane plus, 30,000 thousand tons of raffinate C4 per year.

The company can also produce 411,000 tons of ethylene, 118,000 tons of polypropylene chemical grade, 64,000 tons of polypropylene polymer grade, 26,000 tons of butadiene, 180,000 tons of vinyl chloride, 440,000 tons of ethylene di chloride, 63,300 tons of hydrochloric acid, 6,600 tons of bleach, 150,000 tons of heavy polyethylene, 100,000 tons of light polyethylene, 4,000 tons of artificial rubber per year.
