Chinese company to dig new wells at Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan

China's CNPC Chuanging Drilling Engineering Company Ltd will dig new wells at the Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan, Trend reports, citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The project is designed for 30 months, in accordance with the agreement signed in 2007, payment for the company's services will be made at the expense of natural gas supplies to China for 3 years.

The construction will be carried out on the basis of victory in the tender, opened by Turkmengas State Concern of Turkmenistan for the provision of services for the construction of new wells at this field.

Turkmenistan and China cooperate in several areas. In particular, cooperation in the energy sector is highlighted.

As reported, a new field in Bagtyyarlyk contractual PSA territory is being put into operation in the country. The exploration and development of this field are carried out by the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

CNPC signed the Bagtyyarlyk Production Sharing Agreement with Turkmenistan in 2007 and began to purchase natural fuel in Central Asia since 2009, after the launch of a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China through the territories of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
