Electricity generation of Iran's Ofogh Combined Cycle Power Plant increases

The electricity generation of the Ofogh Combined Cycle Power Plant in the Mahshahr County of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) increased by 3.7 percent during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, head of the power plant Fazlollah Khademi said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

Khademi noted that about 838,000 megawatts of electricity were generated at Ofogh Combined Cycle Power Plant over the reporting period.

"While in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), the power plant generated about 361,000 megawatt-hours of electricity, which is an increase of 3 percent, compared to same month last Iranian year," he added.

The official emphasized that the reason for the increase in electricity generation is the removal of a number of obstacles and overhaul of generation units.

As reported, the Ofogh Combined Cycle Power Plant is located on an area of 100 hectares. This power plant has 4 units - each has capacity to generate 162 megawatt-hours of electricity. In total, this power plant can generate 648 megawatt-hours of electricity. The power plant is controlled by the Ramin Thermal Power Plants Holding Company.
