In general, 70 large facilities in the water and electricity sectors have been put into operation in Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021), Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said, Trend reports citing the ministry.
He made the remark in an event dedicated to the operation of several water and electricity facilities in Iran today on June 29.
The minister stressed that a total of 157 trillion rials (about $3.73 billion) has been spent on these facilities.
Ardakanian added that 290 water and electricity facilities at a cost of 640 trillion rials (about $15.2 billion) are planned to be put into operation in Iran in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
“During the current Iranian government (which has been in power since August 2013), 8.92 million people in 13,900 villages have been supplied with water. This figure will exceed 10 million by the end of the current government (August 5, 2021),” he said.
As reported, several water and electricity facilities at a cost of 4.32 trillion rials (about $103 million) were put into operation in three provinces of Iran today.
