Saipem updates on work for Azerbaijan’s Absheron field project

For Total Absheron E&P under the Absheron URF Project, procurement and engineering are nearing completion, Italian Saipem company told Trend.

The company noted that subsea structures installed, pipelines already installed in Q1, umbilicals installation scheduled in Q3 2021.

In consortium with Bos-shelf/Star Gulf Saipem was awarded by Total E&P Absheron BV the Absheron Early Production Scheme Project, consisting of Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Fabrication, Installation and Pre-commissioning of an Umbilical Riser and Flowline Package.

In October 2018, Saipem was awarded a contract for the development of Azerbaijan’s Absheron gas field.

Total awarded a SURF (subsea, umbilical, riser and flowline) contract to the consortium between Saipem’s subsidiary, Saipem Contracting Netherlands BV, Boshelf LLC and STAR GULF FZCO, for the development of the Absheron field.

The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore installation, assistance to commissioning and to performance testing of a 12” single production flowline and its Flowline End Termination structure (FLET), and of a main umbilical, both being approximately 34 km in length.
