Electricity generation of Iran's Ofogh Combined Cycle Power Plant up

The electricity generation of the Ofogh Combined Cycle Power Plant in the Mahshahr County of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 2 percent during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, head of the power plant Fazlollah Khademi said, Trend reports citing Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s website.

The official said that the Ofogh Combined Cycle Power Plant generated about 1.2 million megawatts of electricity within the mentioned period.

“While in the 4th month of the current Iranian (June 22 through July 23, 2021), the power plant generated about 358,000 megawatt-hours of electricity,” he added.

Khademi noted that the operation of the power plant has been maximized due to the extremely hot weather.

As reported, the Ofogh Combined Cycle Power Plant is located on an area of 100 hectares. This power plant has 4 units - each has capacity to generate 162 megawatt-hours of electricity. In total, this power plant can generate 648 megawatt-hours of electricity. The power plant is controlled by the Ramin Thermal Power Plants Holding Company.
