Iran's Abadan Petrochemical Company has exported 600 tons of Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to August 8, the Executive Director of the company, Mohsen Alavi told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to Alavi, this is the first time that the company was able to export products in this volume within the mentioned period. This product was sold at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME).
The director added that the value of the products sold was 3.5 trillion rials (about $83.4 million).
The company official expressed hope that interest in the company's products will continue to grow.
“Disruptions in electricity supply have negatively affected the production of Abadan Petrochemical Company. Thus, if there were no existing problems, the company could produce more than 9,480 tons of PVC,” he said.
Reportedly, the Abadan Petrochemical Company can produce about 60,000 tons of PVC a year, at present. The company is implementing plans to produce 110,000 tons of PVC a year.
