Oil transshipment volume by Batumi Oil Terminal LLC skyrockets

In the first half of 2021, the Batumi Oil Terminal LLC Group of Companies (BOT) of companies increased the transshipment of oil, petroleum products and gas by 77 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing KazTransOil JSC, which is the parent to Batumi Oil Terminal LLC.

The total volume of transshipment of oil cargo amounted to 726,000 tons. The growth of this indicator is ensured by attracting new cargo of Turkmen origin.

Over the period from January through June 2021, the transshipment of 198,800 tons of light oil products and 224,200 tons of dark oil products of Turkmen origin was carried out.

In addition, as part of the work to attract new shippers, BOT signed a contract for the transshipment of crude oil from Turkmenistan. The first oil deliveries are expected in August 2021. Currently, negotiations are also underway on the issue of transshipment of dark oil products and gas from Turkmenistan.

KazTransOil JSC directly owns and manages production assets in Georgia through BOT. BOT provides services for transshipment, pumping, storage of oil, petroleum products, and gas, as well as products of their processing using its own berths, technological pipelines, and tanks.

The competitive advantage of BOT is the flexibility in the storage and transshipment of various grades of oil and petroleum products – including liquefied petroleum gas) - up to 22 types. The capacities of the BOT include 133 tanks, technological pipeline systems, 6 drain overpasses, 3 marinas, and 1 remote marina device.

KazTransOil JSC is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the main oil pipeline. It is included in the group of NC KazMunayGas JSC. It owns a diversified network of main oil pipelines with a length of 5,400 km.
