The volume of marketable gas production in Azerbaijan has grown from January to June 2021, Trend reports citing a report from the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, this showing amounted to more than 17.7 billion cubic meters, up 11.1 percent on annual basis.
Some 86.1 percent of the gas reserves accounted for production, and 13.9 percent, or 2.42 billion cubic meters - for the balance as of early 2021.
Besides, 35.8 percent of natural gas was used in the domestic market, 51.7 percent was exported, and 9.7 percent came from the balance of reserves as of early August.
Nearly 66.7 percent of the natural gas was used for the domestic needs of the country, and 33.3 percent for the needs of the population.
In the first half of this year, about nine billion cubic meters of natural gas have been exported, which is 35.1 percent more than in the same period of 2020.
The volume of gas produced in Azerbaijan amounted to more than 36.7 billion cubic meters in 2020, including 26.06 billion cubic meters of marketable gas.
On annual basis, these indicators increased by 3.1 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively.
