Water consumption by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in the country rose from 51.65 million cubic meters in 2019 to 52.43 million cubic meters in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the company.
SOCAR’s Sustainability Report 2020 shows that its Turkish and Ukrainian subsidiaries have reduced water consumption from 28.53 million cubic meters to 27.25 million cubic meters and from 0.16 million cubic meters to 0.15 million cubic meters, respectively.
SOCAR Energy Georgia consumed 0.12 million cubic meters in 2020, unchanged from 2019.
SOCAR is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, marketing petroleum and petrochemical products in domestic and international markets, and supplying natural gas to industry and the public in Azerbaijan.
SOCAR conducts various petroleum activities in countries such as Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Switzerland, Germany and Ukraine, including trading activities, mainly in Switzerland, Singapore and Nigeria.
