BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 4

Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Georgia is actively working to improve the household infrastructure, a very large-scale gas supply project has been launched, Trend reports referring to the Georgian media.

“Imereti is one of the regions with a record number of new gas networks,” said Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava.

According to the minister, over a three-year period, 46 settlements of the region were included in the gas supply plan, and about 30 more settlements will be added to this plan soon.

“Gas has been supplied to eight of these villages in Tkibuli municipality, but, of course, this is not enough, this process will continue, and families will be supplied with gas as much as possible - these are new jobs, new living conditions,” Turnava said.

The minister also expressed the hope that families and entrepreneurs living in Tkibuli municipality will actively benefit from the new programs announced by the government aimed at the development of ecotourism and agritourism.

“Within the framework of the Produce in Georgia program, we have launched new programs aimed directly at tourism, including eco- and agritourism, where we offer entrepreneurs not only co-financing of interest-free loans, practically interest-free loans, not only coinsurance but also grants,” said Turnava.
