The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) is ready to start extraction from well No. 44 of the Dehloran oil field in Ilam Province, which has already been drilled, an official of the ICOFC Masoud Esmaeili said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
Esmaeili noted that at present, the company can extract daily 1,500 barrels of crude oil from this well. As a result of the research, it is possible to increase extraction from this well in the near future.
“In order to increase extraction from the Dehloran oil field, 4 more wells are being improved. These wells are planned to be launched by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022),” the official added.
As reported, the Dehloran oil field (this field is called Abu Ghraib in Iraq) is located 180 km south of Kermanshah city and 22 km southwest of Dehloran county. The Dehloran field was discovered in 1972. The field contains 4.21 billion barrels of crude oil, of which 635 million barrels can be extracted.
Daily 37,000 barrels of crude oil are extracted from the field at present. It is estimated that this figure increase to 40,000 barrels daily.
