The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey has reextended the license of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) for exploration of oil and gas deposits, the ministry told Trend.
As the ministry noted, on September 15, 2020, TPAO applied to the ministry to extend the license for another 5 years.
"TPAO will conduct oil and gas exploration in the province of Diyarbakir on a territory with a total area of 8,550 hectares," the ministry said.
In April 2014, a law came into force in Turkey, allowing exploration for oil in forests and national parks.
