The X Congress of the Liberal Democratic Party is being held in Tashkent, during which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev talks about the main directions of his election program "Strategy of New Uzbekistan".
One of them concerns the development of the "green economy". Thus, in the next five years, it is planned to launch wind, solar and hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of more than 5,000 MW. As a result, about 3 billion cubic meters of gas will be saved.
A separate program for the development of electric transport will be adopted, both for the production of electric vehicles and the use of them. In addition, 320 electric buses will start running in Tashkent next year.
It is planned to create a special fund "Green Economy", increase energy efficiency by 20 percent, and reduce emissions of harmful gases by 10 percent.
There are 25 charging stations for electric vehicles in Uzbekistan. Last year there were 3 of them, in 2019 - 0. The first such stations appeared in Fergana, and a whole network is already being created in Tashkent.
Companies that specialize in the sale of electric vehicles and charging stations have been created in Uzbekistan.
Since 2019, there are incentives for the import of electricity.
In addition, Uzavtosanoat wants to switch to the production of exclusively electric vehicles in the coming years. The company was instructed, with the involvement of foreign experts and consulting companies, to develop a draft of the corresponding concept.
