Iran to develop country's largest coal mine

TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 11

Iran plans for development of the country's largest coal mine in South Khorasan Province, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Fatemi Amin, who accompanied Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to the province, said 11 percent of the total country`s mineral reserves is located at South Khorasan Province.

He said that Parvardeh mine has 75 percent of the country's coal reserves.

“Paying attention to the mining sector is of the priorities of the new administration,” he said.

Fatemi Amin went on to address the living problems of the employees of Parvardeh mine. He added that the large part of the Parvardeh Mine reserves can meet the needs of the country.

“The mine`s development projects should accelerate, to both create employment and increase coal imports,” he said.

Considering the economic issues and employment are of the priority of the new administration, he Fatemi Amin said that the president visited the mine to closely informe about the problems of the workers.
