BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept.20

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

P&O Maritime Logistics soon to deliver second Multi-Carrying Vessel to Azerbaijan, the company told Trend.

“In fact, our specialized Multi-Carrying Vessel (MCV) fleet recently delivered project cargo to Baku from Norway as part of our project with BP. Our fleet took the Russian Inland Water System to reach Azerbaijan, with our MCVs navigating a wide range of conditions to successfully complete the journey – all of which MCVs are specially designed to withstand. In fact, the first MCV broke all transit time records for project deliveries to Azerbaijan, and we’re expecting the second MCV to arrive in the country later this month,” said the company.

As for other projects in Azerbaijan, P&O Maritime Logistics said After Total’s exploration at Absheron concluded in 2019, the company partnered there with Saipem and currently has one vessel supporting pipe laying at the field.

“On the Karabakh field we supplied Equinor from when exploration began in 2019 until it concluded in 2020. Work at Karabakh is currently suspended due to Covid-19,” said the company.
