Gazprombank allocates loan to Uzbekistan for modernization of gas pipelines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 12

Gazprombank JSC (Russia) and Bank GPB International S.A. (Gazprombank Luxembourg) signed a loan insurance agreement with the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) in order to implement Uztransgaz JSC’s project of modernization the gas transportation system in Uzbekistan in 2021-2022, Trend reports citing the press service of ESCAR.

Gazprombank will provide a $300 million bridge loan for the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of 545 km of gas pipelines, as well as overhaul of compressor station installations.

Two Russian enterprises - "Nadymstroygazdobycha" and "Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant" will take part in the modernization.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian State Development Corporation Vnesheconombank (VEB.RF) will send 146 million euros for the reconstruction of 95 pumping stations in five regions of Uzbekistan.
