Volume of SOCAR's aviation fuel supplies to Ukraine disclosed

SOCAR Energy Ukraine, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, supplied 1,900 tons of aviation fuel from Lithuania and 5,000 tons from Belarus to Ukraine in October 2021, Trend reports with reference to Ukrainian media.

Aviation fuel supplies from Lithuania to Ukraine decreased by 28.3 percent in October 2021, compared to October 2020 and stood at 5,600 tons, of which 2,100 tons were delivered to Amic Ukraine, 1,900 tons to SOCAR Energy Ukraine, 800 tons to Glusco Ukraine, 500 and 400 tons to Avia Oil and OKKO, respectively.

Moreover, Ukraine received 6,900 tons of aviation fuel from Belarus. Around 5,000 tons of this volume was delivered by SOCAR Energy Ukraine and the remaining 1,900 tons were supplied by Lux Kraina.

Ukraine imported 124,800 tons of aviation fuel from January through October 2021, or 7.3 percent more than 116,300 in the same period in 2020.

SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008. The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012

SOCAR's investments in Ukraine as of 2020 stood at $300 million.
