Iran discloses details of petrochemical exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 13

Iran exported about 12.2 million tons of petrochemical products worth $6.73 billion during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

According to the statistics, 2.42 million tons of raw materials of polymer products worth about $2.89 billion were exported within 7 months.

Over seven months, Iran exported 4.67 million tons of methanol worth $1.71 billion.

In addition, the exports of aromatic compounds for the reporting period amounted to 576,000 tons worth $433 million.

“At the same time, urea exports amounted to 2.44 million tons worth $879 million,” the statistics said.

Within 7 months, Iran also exported 426,000 tons of sulfur worth $64.3 million.

According to the statistics, 1.63 million tons of other petrochemical products worth $758 million were exported during the reporting period.
