Iran's solar power plants generate 455-megawatt electricity that is 50 percent of generated electricity by the country's renewable energies, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The latest report released by the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) indicates Iran's renewable energies generated 904.07-megawatt electricity in September.
Solar power plants ranked first in renewable energy production in Iran by generating 455.5-megawatt electricity, sharing 50.38 percent of total renewable energy production.
The untapped power production capacity in solar and wind energy is 1,000 megawatts and 40,000 megawatts.
Wind turbines have produced 19.2-megawatt electricity, sharing 2.12 percent of total renewable energy production.
Thermal waste recycling power plants have the lowest share of 0.44 percent in electricity production by generating 4-megawatt electricity.
