Currently, four major gas pipelines transport natural gas produced in Azerbaijan to the energy markets of various neighboring regions: Hajigabul-Astara Pipeline (Iran), Hajigabul-Gazakh-Saguramo Pipeline (Georgia), Hajigabul-Shirvanovka-Mozdok Pipeline (Russia) and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum Pipeline (Georgia and Turkey).
Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe began on December 31, 2020 with the commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor. Gas from the giant Shah Deniz field is transported to European countries via this new route.
