Iran's current fuel reserves for power plants stand at 2.2 billion liters, said the managing director of the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company Mohsen Tarztalab, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"It is necessary to maintain liquid fuel reserves at power plants, as gas consumption in the commercial and household is increasing during the winter season," Tarztalab noted.
He went on to add that 57 percent of tanks at power plants are filled with diesel fuel.
Iran's power plant's production capacity stands at 86,215 megawatt, and thermal power plants generate 69,622 megawatts.
