Iran discloses details of contract on equipping of cars with dual fuel

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 20

Iran will equip daily 180 cars with dual fuel (gasoline and gas) for 4 years under the contract signed on December 5, 2021, Trend reports citing National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company’s website.

On December 5, a contract was signed between the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) and Iran Khodro Industrial Group. According to the contract, a total of 45,000 taxis and vans will be equipped with dual-fuel in the country.

The contract is worth $19.5 million. Equipping taxis and vans with dual fuel will allow saving more than $19 million in the first year. Meanwhile, in the coming years, this figure will increase by $8 million and exceed $27 million.

In addition, by equipping taxis and vans with dual fuel, about 58 million liters of gasoline will be saved in the first year. Meanwhile, in the next years, an average of 80 million liters of gasoline will be saved per year.

In total, about 300 million liters of gasoline will be saved over 4 years.
