Iran Zagros Oil & Gas Production Company boosts gas extraction

Iran's South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC) has increased gas extraction by 1.5 million cubic meters daily by the recommissioning of two wells, Executive Director of the company Abolhassan Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Central Oil Fields Company’s website.

Mohammadi noted that drilling of well No. 17 in the Dalan gas field lasted about 6.5 months. After the installation of necessary equipment,the well was recommissioned in the second half of the 9th month of the current Iranian year (December 6 through December 21), and the well began to produce 1 million cubic meters of gas daily.

“In addition, drilling of well No. 1 in the Tabnak gas field began last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), and the well was repaired and recommissioned. About 500,000 cubic meters of gas daily has been extracted from the well,” the director added.

The South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC) are one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company currently has 9 gas fields - Aghar, Dalan, Nar, Kangan, Sarkhoon, Tabnak, Homa, Varavi, Shanol, and 2 oil fields - Saadatabad and Sarvestan in operation.

The South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company extracted about 23 billion cubic meters of gas, 7.5 million barrels of gas condensate and 1.14 million barrels of crude oil during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021).

The SZOGPC plans to produce 165 million cubic meters of gas daily from 9 gas fields by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
