Iran's renewable power plants have reduced 61,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions in December, said the head of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization(SATBA), Trend reports citing IRNA.
Renewable power plants reduce fuel and water consumption and protect the environment, Mahmoud Kamani noted.
Renewable power plants have reduced water and fossil fuel gas consumption by 21 million liters and 27 million liters from November 22 to December 21, he indicated.
The renewable power plants have generated 94 million kilowatts per hour of electricity in this period.
The Iranian government is planning to generate 10,000-megawatt renewable energy in a four-year plan and expand the renewable energy market for long-term contracts and investment.
