Turkmenistan exported 141.2 million liters of motor gasoline to Uzbekistan from January through November 2021, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
Thus, Turkmenistan ranks second in terms of supplying gasoline to the neighboring country.
Russia led in the supply of gasoline to this country, exporting 145.3 million liters for 11 months last year. Kazakhstan, which sold 16 million liters of motor fuel, rounds out the top three. Iraq and Iran are fourth and fifth, with 3.6 million and 1.8 million liters, respectively.
In Turkmenistan, the production of various brands of gasoline is carried out by the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, as well as a new plant in the Ahal region, which produces environmentally friendly fuel using the technology of the Danish company Haldor Topsoe.
The contract for the construction of the plant, which has been operating since 2019, was implemented by the State Concern Turkmengas and a consortium of companies such as Japan’s Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Turkey’s Renaissance Holding.
The plant's annual capacity is 600,000 tons of ECO-93 gasoline. The second stage, which is planned to be built at the gas chemical complex, is expected to significantly increase its production capabilities and will have a positive impact on the oil and gas complex's export supplies.
Turkmenistan currently sells its oil products to countries in Europe and Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region via the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange.
